The Interior Design Show West (IDSwest) is Western Canada’s annual premiere design show featuring a diverse range of 200 exhibitors from design competitions to original installations. Some amazing companies have been gathered under one roof including Brent Comber Studio (image above), cause + affect, Marimekko and LU Prints.

As an ongoing commitment to the future of our design industry, IDSwest 2010, in partnership with Vancouver's own Artsy!Dartsy, is thrilled to present FUTURE MASTERS: Young Designers West. Close to 20 design students and recent graduates are presenting their latest work ranging from communication, industrial, and architectural design.

Friday, October 15th - 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 16th - 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, October 17th - 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

I stumbled upon the works of Laura Amiss the other day while spending a bored afternoon eating popcorn and trolling the internet. I thought her illustrations were absolutely gorgeous, but when I checked out her blog, I was even more blown away when I realized she stitches components on to each design using new and reclaimed fabrics. Each piece of work is produced through layering, piecing and sewing fabrics together.
