Vancouver’s largest indie craft fair is kicking off the 4th annual Spring show with 55 local, handmade vendors and a DIY table hosted by Spool of Thread Sewing Lounge to make your own crafts.

Admission $2.00 (kids 10 and under are free)

Did I mention there will be swag bags? The first 30 people through the door will receive a handmade tote bag filled with goodies from all of our vendors! Here are some sneak peeks from hudsonny, Owl + Pussycat, telly designs, kove handmade and Bliss in a teacup.

DIY Vancouver

When I started Got Craft?, I was a complete newbie to the DIY scene. I didn’t know my interfacing from my feed dogs or my slip stitches from my slip knots, but I was very enthusiastic to participate in the so-called contemporary DIY scene. So when Granville Magazine asked if I wanted to curate a DIY blog, I was beyond ecstatic!

This blog is to promote DIY, announce crafty happenings, teach others to make stuff and celebrate crafters and all things handmade with a focus on Vancouver. We will talk to handmade artists, teach you how to incorporate DIY into your life and show you were to locally source your supplies and locally made finished goods.

DIY notebook

If you have not picked up the latest Granville Magazine or checked out their website, what are you waiting for?! Seriously! In a nutshell, the magazine is about sustainable city living through local events, shopping local, eating local and living green. I have been a big fan of Granville Online for a while now, so I was tickled pink when HIlary asked me to be their new DIY guest blogger.

The first tutorial that I had ever written and photographed was featured just before Earth Day where I turned used polyethylene shopping bags into zipper pouches. With a focus on DIY and using sustainable materials, my next tutorial was on making your own notebook out of a paperback novel. ** You can find the tutorial here.

I have signed on for 5 more tutorials that will be featured on a monthly basis. If you have a project that you think I should post about that has a focus on sustainable city living, please let me know!
