Artist Andrew Myers sees pegboards as a pixelated canvas which he then drives screws into at varying depths and then paints them creating unique 3D images. See more of his work here.

inspire :: Isaac Salazar
image found on Cafe Cartolina
Sometimes I come across things and say to myself, "how in the world do they do that?"
Doesn't Isaac Salazar make it look easy? He uses simple arithmetic and an exacto knife to fold book pages from simple letters to more complex and intricate fonts. Each piece can take anywhere from a day to two weeks depending on the design. See more of his work here.

At first glance, they look like a collection of helium balloons. Upon closer inspection, they are actually made from fabric and then stuffed. Speechless right? These amazing pieces are made by Clémentine Henrion. Go check out more of her work here.

inspire :: mark khaisman

found via Apartment Therapy
Have you checked out Mark Khaisman's Tapeworks? He painstakingly layers 2 inch swaths of packing tape over plexiglass until images form. He considers his works to be "conversations with light, and if tape is his paint brush, then light is his blending medium."

Check out more of his work here and here.

inspire :: jenine bressner

Remember Jenine Bressner from Handmade Nation? She was the one that was working with molten glass while being interviewed. Completely cool and calm while drawing glass rods in and out of a hot head torch flame that is almost 2000 degrees. Each bead is made by hand one at a time and usually takes 1 to 2 hours then another 5 hours in the kiln. Isn't her work amazing? Check out her flickr page here or on the handmade nation trailer at around 2:02 here.
She's on the Martha Stewart show today as part of the Maker Faire series. You can watch the video here if you missed it.

found via meet me at mikes / work by Anastassia Elias
Like Pip says, we seem to be always going through toilet paper around here. That's why I only buy the double rolls. Who would have thought that you could turn toilet paper rolls into art? Simply fantastic.
You can out more of Anastassia Elias' work here.

Check out these New York City mixed-media, pop-up books by designer Daisy Lew. Pop-Up NYC is a series of books inspired by New York City icons (the Big Apple, the Chrysler Building). From one angle (top view), the image represents an icon while another icon, represents the cityscape (side view).

Check out Daisy's full portfolio on her website by clicking here. I highly recommend it.

inspire :: Scott Wade

photo from i core (found via TinyMeat)
Graffiti artist, Scott Wade, uses ordinary artist brushes to draw on the back of dusty car windows. He lives near a dirt road covered in caliche - a mixture of limestone dust, gravel and clay - which, when driven over covers the car in a fine, white dust.
I don't know about you, but whenever my windows got dirty, the only thing that I ever drew were hearts and maybe the occasional 'hi' and 'hello'.

You can see more of his work here.
